The Department of Health and Human Services has posted on its Web a list of apps and digital tools which would help individual cope with disasters and the challenges disasters pose

The Department of Health and Human Services has posted on its Web site a list of apps and digital tools which would help individual cope with disasters and the challenges disasters pose. The apps are divided into five categories:

HHS notes that the tools on the page are designed to provide mobile device users access to Web-based content. The apps have been developed to run on specific mobile platforms, such as iOS (iPhone), Android, or Blackberry.

  • Native or standalone apps deliver content to a mobile device and do not require Internet connectivity to view and use the content, and HHS indicates these types on its Web page by the app’s platform name.
  • Web Apps link a mobile device user to content that requires Internet connectivity to access and use.
  • Mobile Web is a link to a mobile optimized or mobile enhanced Web site, which is a reformatted version of a Web site that is easier to read on a mobile device.
