Trends in authenticationGeoVision, Hitachi offer finger vein authentication

Hitachi already has several Japanese banks as clients for its finger vein authentication; it now marries its technology with video specialist GeoVision for an integrated access control solution

Blood may be thicker than water, and blood vessels may offer better biometric authentication than other methods. This is the argument presented by Taipei-based GeoVision during the 5-9 June of Asia’s largest ICT exhibition Computex, as the company introduced its GV-AS200 access control system, together with Hitachi’s Finger Vein authentication system. The companies integrated their solutions to offer a technology which offers video security, access control, and biometrics IT solutions. GV-AS200 was developed for video monitoring and Web-based management of access control. Hitachi Finger Vein authentication system is an access control solution using vein architecture to authenticate identity.

The GV-AS200 will be GeoVision’s first launch of the GeoVision access control product line. The GV-AS200 is a 2-to-4 doors access controller which can connect GV-reader or Wiegand interface card reader and allow registering up to 10,000 card users.
