GVI Security Systems wins Guatamalan border security contract
Despite a history of disappointing earnings, Samsung subsidiary sees strength in the Latin American video surveillance market; deal follow another with a Puerto Rican casino
We have not always been kind to Samsung subsidiary Arrollton, Texas-based GVI Security Systems, but most of our commentary has been limited to reporting the company’s poor quarterly earnings numbers. Now we can report on an unqualified success. GVI announced last week that it had won a contract to provide video surveillance security solutions for border security and customs facility modernization and upgrade programs for the government of Guatamala. The deal comes on the heels of a contract to install video surveillance at the largest casino in Puerto Rico and is part of a company-wide effort to expand its business throughout the region. “At GVI, we look forward to continuing to expand our presence as a leading provider of video surveillance security solutions to governments and the private sector throughout the Americas,” said CEO Steven Walin.
