NextEnergy agrees to purchase Titan Energy Development's mobile energy system

The Sentry 5000 will be used as part of DoD’s Advanced Mobile Microgrid Power System.

Doing well by doing good is always the best approach. Titan Energy Development proves the rule in an announcement today that NextEnergy, a nonprofit corporation which works to commercialize energy technologies that contribute to economic competitiveness, energy security, and the environment, would purchase Titan’s flagship Sentry 5000 utility system. The mobile Sentry 5000 provides up to eighty hours of self sufficient emergency power before requiring refueling — ideal for supporting water purification, satellite communications, area lighting, and space conditioning efforts.

Mobility is key. NextEnergy intends to use the system as part of the Department of Defense-sponsored Advanced Mobile Microgrid Power System (AM2GPS) program to provide easily deployable on-demand power anywhere in the world. According to a press release, “The program seeks to harness power from conventional generating sources as well as wind, solar photovoltaics, vehicles with exportable power capabilities, fuel cells and other sources, for distribution across a select geographic area.”
