Oracle Surveillance is now Securityhunter

Published 7 April 2006

What’s in a name? Baltimore, Maryland-based electronic security firm Oracle Surveillance Systems has changed its name to Securityhunter. The company has also revamped its corporate structure so it better reflects its growing government sector business. Michael Rogers, founder and CEO of Securityhunter, says: “Since I founded the company 18 years ago, we’ve grown from a single service alarm company into a? multi-faceted security business with a nationwide presence.”

The company currently has two divisions. The Security Integration Division designs and installs electronic security countermeasures. The Security Support Services Division oversees security projects for mission critical operations. Among the company’s clients are the U.S. Air Force, Army, and Navy, as well as the Departments of Agriculture, Energy, and Labor, and many state and local governments. The company has just been awarded $1.8 million Department of Agriculture (USDA) contract. The contract calls for Securityhunter to assess USDA facilities and oversee the implementation of systems ranging from physical barriers and blast protection to access control and intrusion detection.

They also count DuPont, IKEA, Pepsi-Cola, and Marriott International among their clients.
