Sagem Morpho shows versatile biometric access control
MorphoAccess 500 Series biometric access control terminal offers many security features and speedy identification
Tacoma, Washington-based Sagem Morpho is showing its MorphoAccess 500 Series of indoor and outdoor biometric access control terminals. MA500 Series terminals offer dual-core ARM9 microprocessors with multithread processing capability. Note that the new terminals have internal database storage capacities of up to 50,000 records. The terminals in the MA500 Series come with a large-area optical fingerprint sensor which is FBI PIV IQS-certified and meets PIV FIPS 201 requirements. Companies wanting even more security can buy versions of the product which offer internal contactless smartcard readers and fake finger detection.
The new family of products has many security features which system developers will appreciate, among them a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for secure TCP/IP connectivity as well as antitheft and antitamper switches with status communications via TCP/IP. A Secure Access Module (SAM) interface is provided on the terminal’s main circuit board for use in authenticating card credentials. Compnaies may use the MA500 Series with the MorphoAccess Enrollment Management System 6.2 (MEMS 6.2), or with proprietary applications developed by integrators and VAR partners.
The system is also fast: The company says that 1:1 authentication times are typically less than 0.7 seconds.
