SAIC wins $39 million DHS security services contract

Five year deal requires company to perform risk assessments, build system architecture, and assist with technology policy and implementation

Industry heavyweight McLean, Virginia-based Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is back in the headlines (not that it ever leaves for very long). The company last week announced it had won a five year, $39 million DHS contract to provide security services to Customs and Border Protection. According to the company news release, which was unfortunately vague about the partculars, SAIC’s efforts will include certification and accreditation, security risk assessments, security test and evaluation, system architecture, communication security services, and technology policy and administration. “We are pleased with our selection by DHS to continue our work on this important program for the Security and Technology Policy Branch,” said executive Larry Cox.
