California company helps Georgia ports and terminals with tracking cargo with their real-time monitoring services

Belmont, California-based Savi Networks, a provider of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based information services to monitor cargo container shipments, has teamed with the Maritime Logistics Innovation Center in Georgia to provide the state with better tools for tracking cargo shipments. Savi will begin by providing Georgia ports and terminals with SaviTrak, the company’s real-time solution for tracking shipments. Participating port and terminal operators in Georgia will be able to provide customers greater levels of efficiency, real-time visibility and condition for containerized cargo and also allow them to connect with other Savi Networks users worldwide. “This partnership allows for technology expansion through the extensive research and development capabilities available to Savi Networks through MLIC,” said Page Siplon, executive director, Maritime Logistics Innovation Center.
