Industry heavyweight wins a $64 million follow-on contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center

Vienna, Virginia-based Serco is a good company which we have not given the attention it deserves. Today we begin to turn over a new leaf. The company — which has its international headquarters in the United Kingdom — announced this week that it had won a $64 million follow-on contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) to provide engineering and technical services for integrated surveillance and intelligence systems that protect ships and infrastructure at U.S. Navy and Coast Guard facilities. Details are a little fuzzy, but the technology involved, which is already widely deployed at Navy bases, include sensors, surveillance systems, and collaboration software. “We have developed a keen appreciation for the operating environments faced at these ports by the Navy in the years we have worked with them,” said Serco’s Kent Brown.
